About Mouwaten and our policies

About us

Mouwaten is a free civic initiative started by an ordinary Tunisian citizen, with a simple ambition: help people organize constructive contributions to public life in Tunisia.

Last updated: November 8, 2026

A welcoming space for responsible participation, with privacy safeguards, public anonymity options and moderation that respects people’s rights.

Turning individual experiences into useful contributions

Mouwaten brings together public-interest reports, evaluations of public services and information about public responsibilities. By organizing these contributions, the initiative seeks to make shared concerns easier to understand and support respectful dialogue and improvements that benefit communities.

Free participation, with equal consideration

Access to Mouwaten and participation in its civic features are free of charge. Participation remains subject to account eligibility and the platform’s rules. Every contribution deserves fair consideration, whether it expresses appreciation, a concern or a different perspective. Ratings reflect service experiences and published criteria; identity verification does not give a rating extra numerical weight.

Privacy and security as practical commitments

The service uses access controls, protected sessions and restricted access to identity documents. Anonymous publication options limit the author information shown to the public, while contributions remain linked to an account internally. Public anonymity does not remove details you include in text or attachments. No online service can promise absolute security or complete anonymity; our privacy policy explains the safeguards, limits and available choices.

Moderation that preserves dignity and rights

Contributions are subject to safety and privacy checks and to human review where required. The purpose is to protect personal dignity, privacy and the rights of contributors and people mentioned, while allowing respectful, evidence-based criticism. Automated checks can make mistakes; contributors can read feedback, and anyone concerned may contact the team to request a correction or reconsideration. Publication does not establish the truth of an allegation.

Responsible participation within the law

Mouwaten encourages peaceful, constructive participation that respects applicable law and the rights of others. Please distinguish observations from opinions, avoid threats and unsupported accusations, and share only evidence you are entitled to provide. Anonymous publication does not remove these responsibilities. The initiative does not replace public authorities, courts or emergency services, and moderation is not a legal determination.

A shared effort, open to dialogue

Useful civic participation grows through care, accuracy and willingness to listen. We welcome suggestions from citizens, public servants and people affected by a contribution. Please contact the team with the relevant page and a concise explanation, without sending identity documents in an initial message. Our methodology, moderation and privacy pages explain how participation works.
